Our embellishments enhance brands, identify, protect, and prevent counterfeits. And we are paving the way for smart experiences around your products by connecting the visual and the virtual world. It’s no surprise then, that we are regarded as enablers in the areas of the smart home and autonomous driving. Our numerous granted and registered patents are proof that innovation and development is more than just a buzzword for KURZ.
It all began with OROFIN. In the early 1930s, Konrad Kurz applied for a patent for the very first Hot Stamping foil coated with genuine gold in what is referred to as the sputtering process under the name OROFIN. This film was used for pencils, bookbinding, and in the hat industry, and the former gold beater KURZ thus laid the foundation for its global group of companies. Our strong golden roots have inspired us to call our customer magazine OROFIN (‘fine gold’). Today, LEONHARD KURZ has more than 5,500 employees. The group currently develops and produces surface finishings in 13 factories in Europe, Asia, and the USA under uniform quality and environmental standards.
